Conditional table formatting
Conditional formatting highlights cells or a range of cells that meet certain conditions using data bars, color scales, and icon sets, while changing the appearance of the cell range based on conditions (or criteria). If the condition is met, the cell range is formatted based on that condition, and otherwise the cell range will not be formatted based on that condition.
Conditional formatting or conditional formatting is located in the Home menu in the Styles command group.
Conditional formatting can make it easier to count or separate students who, for example, have passed an exam or who are older than a year or enrolled in a particular year.
There are several types of conditional formatting:
• Format all cells using two-color and three-color scales
• Format all cells using data tapes
• Format all cells using a set of icons
• Format only values from the top or bottom of the ranking list
• Format only unique or duplicate values
• Format only values that are above or below average
